Welcome! I am Kaitlyn Elizabeth Dardar, your 2013 Miss Louisiana Gumbo Festival Queen XLII. I am the proud daughter of Tommy and Juli Dardar of Thibodaux, and the granddaughter of Robert and Lorraine Breaux, also of Thibodaux.
I am 22 years old and currently a junior attending Fletcher Technical Community College focusing on General Studies with a concentration in Criminal Justice. My goal after graduation is to work for a thriving law firm and be a positive and contributing member of that organization. Prior to Fletcher Technical Community College, I successfully attended Nicholls State University for three years and enrolled in classes that focused on Dietetics. I am also a graduate of Barbizon School of Modeling and attended the International Modeling & Talent Association (IMTA) in Los Angeles, CA.
I have worked extensively in the model and TV industries and have appeared as an extra in several movies, and done commercial work with WWL TV wrinkle free Friday and also with DOTD about the danger and consequences of drunk driving.
I graduated from E. D. White Catholic High School in 2009 and was involved in many extracurricular activities. I played high school basketball and softball and was also a varsity cheerleader, along with being an honor member of Student Council.
I have many hobbies and interest, which include fashion/styling, dancing, swimming, cooking and spending time with family and friends. I have completed more than 13 years of dance classes which included tap, ballet and jazz and enjoyed every minute of it. I am a certified swim instructor who enjoys teaching private swim lessons to children of all ages. I have a keen interest in fashion merchandising and design. With our family’s clothing boutique business, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to put my passion for fashion and buying to good use.
Working with youth in our community is very important and rewarding for me. In addition to teaching swim lessons, I also adore teaching my 4th grade students at CCD religion classes.
It is truly a blessing and honor to be the 2013 Miss Louisiana Gumbo Festival Queen XLII. I guarantee you’ll have a great time!
